Our unobserved daily lifes
To the ends of the earth • In the series To the Ends of the Earth Kaytlin Schmidt captures Michigan’s coast, focusing on the unique contrast between tourism and rural life. Spanning Lake Huron’s southeastern shore, the series showcases farmland, beaches, small towns, and parks, portraying a region marked by transformation and timelessness. The coastal landscape evolves with erosion, yet the towns remain familiar year after year, reflecting a place that is at once dynamic and unchanging.
Slipping through my fingers
A visual diary of intimate moments • In her book Diaris, 2009-2019, Catalan photographer Alba Yruela collected many intimate and personal moments of the formative years of her life. As a young adolescent aged 18, without a fixed plan or purpose, she started taking pictures with an analogue camera. The book shows happy and sad moments, self-portraits, friends and lovers, city life and outings to the countryside and the beach. “My main goal was to capture the time.”

Farmers, hunters and doctors • Photographing close to his home and inside his own house, Italian photographer Francesco Neri discovered his roots and the farmers in the region. Without a pre-visualised concept, he let his camera do the work. Through documentary and descriptive style, he captured autobiographical photographs of his environment.
Under Heavens Bells • The series is a search for God’s voice and Silence in our mighty nature and finding signs of its creator. The series is also a photographic love letter to Jotunheimen and an attempt to visualise my inner emotions when coexistence with the mountains.

Following the moon • In this series, I honoured the moon, our celestial companion, who has been a source of wonder, inspiration, and emotions for countless generations. A joyful, fantastic, surreal moon creates a magical world. It is a mirror of our emotions and reflects our inner side. We can always find the moon illuminating our path and encouraging us to take bold steps towards our dreams.
Dream Ballads • Maria Semmer’s The Dream Ballads series captures a mystical lake setting where dusk and evening light evoke a sense of enchantment. The water, seen as a gateway to the subconscious, draws viewers into a world between consciousness and dreams. The project blurs the boundary between reality and imagination by immersing objects and people in the water, inviting viewers to explore hidden realms. From a dreamer’s perspective, these images reveal a surreal, otherworldly landscape full of secrets and introspective beauty.
Aurora Borealis • The Aurora Borealis project of Olga Zaverzhenets delves into the transformative power of dreams, inspired by personal reflections on family, loss, and resilience. Centred on the ethereal Aurora Borealis, it weaves together themes of longing, faith, and the search for meaning amid grief. Through vivid imagery and introspective storytelling, the work explores the universal desire to fulfil dreams, confront inner struggles, and embrace healing. Ultimately, it is a journey of self-discovery and hope inspired by the mystical allure of the northern lights.
